MetaHuman Creator is Epic’s latest tool for Unreal Engine artists and its looks incredible. Most of us intuitively know that creating highly realistic digital humans for 3D projects for film to advertising is incredibly difficult. Epic says that traditionally, it could take months or even years to craft even a single convincing real-time human.

Until now!

MetaHuman Creator

MetaHuman Creator is a new tool for creating unique (not pre-made models) digital humans that are rigged and ready to animate in Unreal Engine in a matter of minutes.

While the software is not quite ready, users will be able to test-drive the software as part of an Early Access program within the next few months. Moreover, Epic is releasing two fully finished sample digital humans available today to begin working with.

MetaHuman Creator

Epic’s new MetaHuman Creator is a forthcoming app for making bespoke life-like digital humans for use in Unreal Engine.

MetaHumans Creator will enable users to create bespoke, real-time digital humans with life-like accuracy. Epic says this is going to set a new benchmark in the industry. Users will be able to directly manipulate facial features, adjust skin complexion, and select from preset body types, hairstyles, clothing and more. You can even edit a character’s teeth.

The new Epic app is a cloud-streamed application where you conduct your character creation process. Once your character is finished, you can export and download it, rigged and ready to animate in Unreal Engine.
