The Nemetschek Group, one of the world’s largest AEC/O software industry powerhouses, has joined forces with Google and is announcing a major partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate AI-driven innovation, expand into new markets, and deliver more innovative digital workflows for the industry.

Major Partnership

As part of this new partnership and collaboration, Nemetschek will leverage Google Cloud’s advanced AI (Gemini) technologies at the group level and further adopt Google Cloud technologies at scale across its entire brand portfolio. A few brands (Graphisoft, for example) already leverage Google Cloud technologies.

“Our partnership with Google Cloud marks a pivotal moment in our mission to redefine how digital solutions drive efficiency, collaboration, and sustainability in the AEC/O industry,” said Charlie Timmermann, Group VP of Strategic Alliances at the Nemetschek Group. “The best innovations often emerge through partnerships. Growing alongside Google Cloud further strengthens Nemetschek as a leader in the digital transformation of the AEC/O industry.”

The Nemetschek Group and Google Cloud form partnership to advanced AI-powered cloud-based collaboration in AEC/O workflows across Nemetschek brands.

“We are proud to partner with the Nemetschek Group, a leading provider in the AEC/O and media industry, to accelerate its AI-driven innovation and integration, said Dr Marianne Janik, Vice President, EMEA North, Google Cloud. “With a trusted AI platform that is easy to use, offers choice, and extends to an ecosystem of partners, we provide customers solutions that set them up for success in today’s competitive environment. As we share values with Nemetschek around customer centricity and innovation, we see this global partnership as a natural step for us.”

The collaboration between Google and the Nemetschek Group will be built around three key pillars: driving AI-powered innovation and simplification, accelerating the Group’s global expansion, and enhancing efficiency and sustainability.

The Three Pillars

The first pillar focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) and will complement Nemetschek’s previous large AI technology commitments and initiatives, which happen to be led by new senior AI executives who previously held senior roles at Google. This first pillar will begin to support the Group’s AI plans and strategic move towards a multi-cloud, AI-layered ecosystem crafted to deepen collaboration and automation across both design, engineering, and construction workflows across the Group’s strong brands.

Graphisoft has established a longstanding partnership with Google Cloud, which has been instrumental in scaling the company’s BIMcloud platform. According to Nemetschek, this collaboration has facilitated sustained growth, increased user adoption, and driven innovation within the organization.

Furthermore, the incorporation of geospatial integration with Google Maps and Google Earth will enable the BIM authoring brands within the Nemetschek Group, such as ALLPLAN and Vectorworks, to enhance their planning and resource allocation processes. The implementation of artificial intelligence by Nemetschek will be guided by three key principles: privacy and data governance, protection of intellectual property rights and creativity, and commitment to business integrity, thereby ensuring responsible and transparent adoption of technology.

The second pillar centers on business growth. The Nemetschek brand solutions will be integrated into the Google Cloud Marketplace and Google Workspace Marketplace, expanding market exposure and reach for these AEC/O software applications.

A new series of initiatives will, for example, include Nemetschek brands like Bluebeam, GoCanvas, Spacewell, and Vectorworks, aimed at accelerating digital adoption to increase collaboration and broaden customer access. The Workspace and Marketplace initiatives will benefit both small and medium-sized architects, engineers and construction companies as well as large enterprises.

The third pillar is dedicated to sustainability, with both tech companies collaborating to position the Nemetschek Group as a leader in sustainability technology for the architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AEC/O) sector. Google Cloud’s AI-powered solutions will aid the industry in achieving sustainability goals, such as reducing carbon footprints, evaluating lifecycle impacts, and enhancing energy efficiency.

ALLPLAN, Graphisoft, and Vectorworks are integrating AI-driven services to facilitate sustainable design and ensure regulatory compliance. Meanwhile, Spacewell is enhancing energy efficiency in building operations through advanced smart facility management solutions.
