Autodesk this week has announced the worldwide availability of its new Autodesk Build™ a new project and field management software solution for the AEC industry. Autodesk Build is a part of Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Architosh covered the initial announcement of Autodesk Build at Autodesk University 2020, held virtually in Q4 of last year. The solution is aimed at construction teams, as opposed to other similar offerings aimed at design and engineering professionals. With Autodesk Build construction professionals can better manage projects, deal with quality and safety issues from the field or from the office.

This new solution unifies best-in-class features from previous Autodesk tools, including BIM 360 and PlanGrid, and adds powerful new capabilities those tools were lacking. Owners, general contractors, and sub-contractors get real-time visibility to help keeps teams in sync and thereby improve operations, quality and safety.

The new Autodesk Build field and project management solution for construction teams is now available globally.

“Our teams need the right technology to achieve outstanding results,” says Barton Malow Holdings Senior VDC Manager Ted Jennings. “By bringing together the best of BIM 360 and PlanGrid and adding even more project management firepower, Autodesk Build is both a simple and robust solution. Connecting out teams and data across projects allows us to supercharge our work with more streamlined document, safety and cost management, and deliver our quality standards.”

Product Features include:

  • RFI Workflows
  • Submittal Workflows
  • Meeting Minutes
  • Daily Reports
  • Information from all the above workflows is immediately connected to Autodesk Docs, the company’s common data environment (CDE).
  • PlanGrid Build App — newly refreshed and purpose-built for mobile field collaboration and included in Autodesk Build. PlanGrid Build App enables issue management, punch lists, quality assurance, and observations tasks
  • Autodesk Build provides a single-source of truth (SSoT) for all project documents, with built-in document control, versioning, and approval capabilities that support 2D sheets, 3D models, and easy-to-share markups
  • Include Cost Module — provides cost management workflows as an optional module for teams to configure and utilize. Budget creation, contract administration, change orders, cost forecasts, and payment applications alongside a real-time view of project health help construction professionals make informed decisions and mitigate risks to project costs

Autodesk Build is available for a free 30-day trial. There is a demo here. For pricing and packaging information, those interested can contact an Autodesk representative or click here.

Autodesk has also made announcements this week around its cloud solutions for AEC design teams. Autodesk Docs (the company’s CDE) is now included in the AEC Collection. BIM 360 Design is now Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro, and Autodesk BIM Collaborate is now available globally.
