MAXON Announces Immediate Availability of new CINEMA 4D R18

Company to showcase powerful new features like Voronoi Fracturing, Interactive Knife Tools and Substance Engine Connectivity at IBC 2016, Amsterdam.

MAXON today has announced the immediate availability of Cinema 4D release 18 (R18), the next generation of its industry-leading 3D animation, graphics, VFX, visualization, and rendering software application. Cinema 4D R18 has a slew of new exciting features that power user’s creativity and production workflows across a variety of industries from TV, film, games, architecture, advertising and general design.

What’s Hot in New Cinema 4D R18

The new MoGraph features in R18 include the Voroni Fracturing object for procedural fracturing and the ReEffector tool that works like a layer system for Effector setups. These features won’t be that enticing to those in architecture per se but will be very attractive to those in other industries served. The new interactive knife tool is a modeling powerhouse tool that will be useful to all types of users, enabling precision cutting across multiple surfaces while the new 3D object tracking capabilities allows seamless integration of 3D assets into video.

Hot for Architecture Viz

A hot new area that will be appeal to archviz pros who use Cinema 4D for their workflow will be the new Substance Engine integration. (see our report on Substance here). With additional shader and surface effects in the offering via Substance’s technology, R18 will provide higher quality visuals via high-end texturing and final results.

European Debut at IBC 2016 in Amsterdam

Cinema 4D R18 will make its European debut at the MAXON booth in hall 7, K30 at IBC 2016, taking place September 9 – 13, 2016, at the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam.

Renowned 3D artists Brett Morris, Sophia Kyriacou and Nikita Diakur, along with creatives from international studios such as the Moving Pictures Company and ManvsMachine, will share insights and techniques used on projects created with Cinema 4D. Among them will be Versus, a short film realized with several of the new features in R18. Partners such as Allegorithmic, Google, Next Limit, Ventuz, and NVIDIA will also present important workflow integrations with Cinema 4D. Pricing and Availability for Cinema 4D R18

Cinema 4D Release 18 is available from MAXON and its authorized dealers. MAXON Service Agreement customers whose MSA is active as of September 1, 2016, will be automatically upgraded. Cinema 4D R18 is available for Mac OS X and Windows; Linux nodes are also available for network rendering.
