FileMaker, Inc., has announced that FileMaker Go 12 for iPad and FileMaker Go 12 for iPhone have been downloaded more than 100,000 times in just their first week on the market. Last week Architosh ran a feature Product In-Depth report on the latest FileMaker 12 database applications and the big news of that release was the way in which the Apple subsidiary is making FileMaker a leading platform for the creation of custom iOS business applications for Apple’s iPad and iPhone.

An iOS Development Platform Made Easy

FileMaker announced last week that the new FileMaker Go products are now completely free, spurring further interest and demand in using FileMaker as a development platform for Apple’s mobile iOS devices like iPad and iPhone. The powerful iOS development tools enable even novice application developers to tap the power of Apple’s hardware and iOS features from within the FileMaker family of products.

“The rapid adoption of FileMaker Go 12 strengthens FileMaker’s position as a leading platform for creating custom iOS business apps,” said Ryan Rosenberg, vice president, marketing and services, FileMaker, Inc. “Businesses are using FileMaker Pro to create apps to manage everything from their inventory to contacts to salespersons’ routes, and deploying these on their iPads and iPhones with FileMaker Go.”

A free 30-day trial of FileMaker Pro 12 lets everyone see how easy it is to start creating custom iOS business apps.
