Los Angeles-based Pixologic Inc. has announced new versions of their DCC (digital content creation) software for Apple’s Mac OS X platform. The new software includes ZBrush 3.2 for Mac OS X, GoZBrush for Mac OS X, and Decimation Master for Mac OS X.

The new ZBrush 3.2 for Mac OS X contains several optimizations and feature adjustments including early ZBrush 4 core technology to facilitate GoZ features. The 3.2 upgrade is free to all registered users.

GoZBrush is a new technology that enables automating a time-consuming process of preparing your normal displacement and texture maps for digital painting. With a single click of a button GoZ will transfer your mesh to a GoZ-enabled application of your choice (eg: Maya, etc.) and instantly set up all the appropriate shading networks for you. Upon sending your mesh back to ZBrush, GoZ will automatically remap the existing high-resolution details to the incoming mesh.

Architosh has written about Decimation Master recently, an application that dramatically reduces the number of polys in your models making them very efficient while keeping all their sculpted details. Uses include sending your detailed models to a Rapid Prototyping process (3D printing) or working between ZBrush and other 3D packages.
