Newforma announces new Konekt Egnyte Connector

Egnyte storage cloud keeps the files while Newforma Konekt keeps the context — that is the benefit to AEC professionals with new connector

Newforma, a world leader in project information management (PIM) for the AEC/O industry, has recently announced its new Newforma Konekt Egnyte Connector. The new connection lets the two cloud-based AEC tools communicate.

Konekt Egnyte Connector

With the new connector, files stored in Egnyte—itself a prominent cloud application in AEC—can sit next to the project record they belong to, such as RFIs (requests for information), submittals, action items, correspondence, and approvals that show what happened and when. This adds meaning and context to files that a cloud storage folder can’t provide on its own.

Key Takeaways

  • Many Newforma Konekt customers are already using Egnyte as their data storage system, and the unified connection strengthens the value of both software systems
  • The connector allows users to preview without downloading. View PDF and image files inline without the need to download.
  • Search connected folders — users can find files, returning only what the user is allowed to see
  • Track what went out — users can see and audit details in place, and generate a record copy each time a file is shared

Many AEC/O firms run both Newforma Konekt and Egnyte as they complement each other. Egnyte holds the large files: drawings, specifications, 3D models. Newforma Konekt provides the industry’s single view of the many sources of truth on a project, no matter where the information began in the process.

Egnyte plus Newforma

Newforma and Egnyte partnership bears fruit in a new connector between the two AEC platforms.

The new Konekt Egnyte Connector combines these platforms into a complete project record for end users, bringing together critical documentation and communications, including Teams Messages alongside RFIs, submittals, etc., into a unified context view.

“Firms should not have to choose between the storage their IT team trusts and the project record their project team needs. A lot of our customers already run Egnyte. This connector puts those files where the work happens and leaves the files where IT wants them,” said Carl Veillette, Chief Product Officer, Newforma.

Back in May

The new connector follows a partnership announcement at Newforma World 2026 in May of this year. Newforma provides a project intelligence and view-unification layer across storage systems firms already use, including Microsoft SharePoint and Autodesk Docs, without moving data.
