Newforma of Manchester, New Hampshire, has announced new Microsoft Teams integration with its AEC/O industry software, Newforma, a project and information management software widely used by mid- to large-sized AE organizations.

Their cloud-based Newforma Konekt platform now includes a Microsoft Teams Connector. This addition enables Teams conversations to be integrated directly into the Konekt project record, allowing firms to retain important communications without altering their existing collaboration workflows.
As more and more AEC organizations use Microsoft Teams as their default workspace for fast-moving project coordination, important decisions, clarifications, and issue resolution increasingly take place in this application channel.

The Konekt Teams Connector addresses this reality by automatically syncing public and shared Teams channels with their corresponding projects in Newforma Konekt. Messages, replies, reactions, and files are captured as part of the project record, giving firms a more complete, searchable, and durable history of project communication.

Beyond Teams Alone
One of the key advantages of the Teams Connector solution is its ability to preserve the Teams communication history beyond what is typically available in Microsoft Teams. Once a channel is connected, Newforma Konekt preserves the current version and previous versions with timestamps.
When a message is deleted in Teams, the deleted message remains in the Newforma Konekt record and is clearly identified as deleted. The integration also preserves thread structures, replies, reactions, and attached files, creating a more complete audit trail for firms managing compliance and contractual obligations and requirements, including project closeout and potential disputes.
