The award-winning D5 Render is now out with version 2.11 release, offering multiple advancements and intelligent ways to streamline designer workflows for visualization, including AI-driven efficiencies.
The developer says D5 2.11 is the most powerful and time-saving update yet. Approximately 50 percent of D5 users already say they save 5-10 hours every week using the software’s AI + PCG design-to-render workflow. Version 2.11 makes things ever better.
Version 2.11
The latest D5 Render features over 10 AI-powered tools, along with smarter rendering options and key updates designed to help architects, designers, and 3D artists work more quickly and easily.
AI Agent
D5 2.11 features AI Agent, the new creative partner for users working on designs and visualizations, helping them complete projects 30 percent faster. AI Agent can, with a single click, help generate climate-adaptive landscapes, whether the project and designer demand minimalist landscape compositions or lush, verdant perennial gardens. AI Agent can auto-export detailed plant lists including names, sizes, colors, seasons, and even calculate costs when a D5 user updates their nursery price sheet.
D5 Bot is your always-available in-app AI assistant that can answer questions, from how to use the software, assist in troubleshooting tips, and make intelligent suggestions.
AI PRB Materials
Perhaps the most impressive new AI tool in version 2.11 is the way AI can turn any uploaded reference image (up to 6K resolution) and instantly generate a high-quality PBR material. You can even select a specific area within the image as your reference for the AI to work with. In addition, it recommends visually similar materials from the D5 Asset Library, helping users find the perfect match in seconds or complementary related materials.
AI Atmosphere Match 2.0 brings even more accurate lighting moods as the technology has been precision-trained on professional photography, helping your scene’s sky, lighting, and atmosphere better align with any reference image. And a new strength controller helps the AI magic dial into exactly what the user wants.
There is also a new Texture Strength controller as part of AI Enhancer. And D5 2.11 features Parallel Project modes for making one-click overhead views, side elevations, plans, or sections.
Other Features
Version 2.11 makes animations easier with Camera Target for Video Shots. And a new Disc Light adds soft natural illumination while Directionality controls in Rect and Strip lights offer the user greater control over these lighting types. And now IES profiles work across all light types and sync seamlessly with V-Ray and Corona via LiveSync for 3ds Max.
Real-time Path Tracing has also moved out of alpha, says the company, becoming the new default GI (global illumination) solution with better results.
A new Advanced Brush enables procedural content generation, including along edges with more control and accuracy. This means the user can paint vegetation quickly and with more accuracy. This can mean stones, plants, or even lights.
Final Notes
There are workflow improvements, including subtle refinements, plugin updates, and faster frame generation to make the application more responsive. Enhancements in LiveSync plugins ensure smoother connections between modeling software and D5.
D5 2.11 also now has Cesium Integration so you can place your designs in real-world locations. Just pick a site on a map or enter coordinates and D5 will generate accurate terrain and surroundings. You can also now create 6K and 8K video output. There is also a new D5 Launcher which acts like your hub for installs, updates, and more. Here you can manage D5 Render, D5 Lite, and all sync plugins, plus get the latest news and updates.
New Mac Version
A new Mac version (AI-only features) is planned for late 2025. And D5 Works, a fast-growing 3D asset platform, lets creators upload and sell their models, making high-quality assets more affordable and accessible than ever before.
