Chaos has launched a public beta of its upcoming Chaos Envision, the AEC industry’s first presentation tool that combines the benefits of 100 percent ray-tracing animation, push-button animation tools, and ready-render assets and 3D models all in one place.
Even with massive CAD and BIM models, AEC professionals will be able to transform those complex models into fully animated, ray-traced scenes in minutes. And Chaos is aiming to make this kind of workflow easy for both architects and visualization specialists.
Chaos Envision – Beta
Using their own design data (models), designers and architects can build sophisticated and compelling animated scenes using a library of ready-made assets. Envision promises to greatly simplify the complex tasks of animated presentation work in AEC.
“The trade-offs have always been steep when it comes to presentation products. Speed shreds fidelity, CAD designs won’t carry over, and big files sometimes won’t even load,” said Phillip Miller, VP Product, Solutions for Artists at Chaos. “With Envision, these problems just go away, so designers can work without interruption and explore options without any prework.”
Chaos Envision is now available as a public beta.
Envision is a discreet software application that can ingest content from any 3D application that can host Enscape or V-Ray. Tools like Rhino and Revit, for example, enable architects to begin building their models and developing their designs in the tools they know and love. They can then compile simple to complex scenes inside Envision to generate animations. What begins in a design tool or Enscape will carry over into Envision “as-is.”
Chaos Envision works with the (.vrscene) file format, a Chaos-established file format that ties applications like Enscape, Corona, and V-ray together. These (.vrscene) files can be exported directly from tools that host Enscape and V-ray, including SketchUp and Rhino (with Revit coming soon).
Once data is in Envision architects and designers can begin creating scenes quickly and how they see fit. This includes tweaking objects, animating people, and adding entourage with Chaos Cosmos and Chaos Scatter. As designs evolve back in their CAD or 3D programs, choices made in Envision are applied, enabling faster iterations and no do-overs
Public Beta
Readers and users can sign-up for the public beta now. Chaos Envision is slated for commercial release in early 2025.
