The new update will add more stability to the software when working with worksheets, including increases in data accuracy. Mac users will gain a better experience when working with Redshift render mode on macOS Sonoma, Apple’s latest macOS version.

Also, Live Mode in the Omniverse Connector tool is improved so users can now experience the goodness of real-time updates in their Omniverse Live Session models as they make changes in Vectorworks. This applies to those collaborating with others on the NVIDIA Omniverse platform, who will experience receiving real-time updates sent from Vectorworks to their respective Omniverse-connected applications.

For Architects and Designers

Doors and Windows gain improvements in Update 2, with documentation and the optimization of pocket door configurations and windows with custom sashes for a better-quality 2D output. The 2024 version released new interactive UI widgets for managing doors and windows, have also been improved. And the Structural Member’s auto join behavior and better support for custom profiles also gain more accuracy in their 2D representation.

Moreover, architects and designers will find improved performance when working with the new parametric cabinet and railing objects and a new catalog of Aristokraft cabinets.

For Landscape Architects and Designers

For landscape professionals, Update 2 provides notable advancements in Site Model functionalities—allowing for better documentation of site changes. There is improved cut/fill behavior and more stability when using site modifiers.

Both Vectorworks Architect and Vectorworks Landmark gain new IFC improvements for those professionals working in full BIM workflows with IFC utilization. There is now better support for IFC reference files in the Project Sharing environment, reducing the risk of error. Adding new fence and railing tool worksheets will benefit both architects and landscape professionals for quantity take-offs.

For Lighting and Live Event Designers

Lighting and event designers gain new items in Update 2, as well. These include better cabling tools that make editing and modifying cabling easier and more reliable, and improvements to Summary Keys. Vision users even better support for GDTF files which are seamlessly compatible with gLTF/glb-backed GDTF files. And GDTF-based conventional fixtures can be saved directly within the Vision platform.
