AMD has announced new enterprise driver software for its industrial-grade Radeon PRO branded GPUs. Compared to last year, the new 21.Q3 Enterprise Driver for the yields 16 percent YoY performance gains overall benchmark workloads while increasing application efficiency, reliability, and productivity.
New Driver Benefits
There are multiple new benefits and improvements to the use of the latest Radeon PRO enterprise driver (21.Q3). As noted, the driver improves performance, including a massive 48 percent increase for the CATIA view set and a more modest 12 percent improvement for the Autodesk 3ds max view set.
The updated Radeon PRO driver also adds more AMD Remote Workstation support, adding new support for Teradici CAS (Cloud Access Software), enabling remote workstations to securely stream workstation graphics on remote desktops so that users can stay productive with high-level graphics workloads from anywhere.
The Teradici support adds to existing VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Microsoft Remote Desktop, and HP ZCentral Remote Boost.
Professional application certification continues to advance and AMD says it is committed to developing professional application certified drivers. Certifications include Autodesk 3dsm max, Autodesk Revit, Dassault CATIA, SolidWorks, and many more.
Viewport Image Boost
Finally, the newest AMD Radeon PRO GPUs just announced a few months ago not only offered AMD’s first hardware-accelerated real-time raytracing technology in a pro-oriented GPU but also featured AMD Radeon PRO Viewport Image Boost technology, which decreases and increases resolution of a 3D model in the viewport to provide better image fidelity and allow users to work more swiftly and make better design decisions.
