Corel has announced this week the latest annual update to their computer-aided design software, CorelCAD 2021. The latest update delivers robust new features for professionals and students working in a native (.dwg) file format environment.

CorelCAD 2021

CorelCAD 2021 delivers powerful industry-standard design tools and features at an attractively affordable price point. New capabilities enhance streamlining workflows with both clients and collaborators, plus there is improved support for 3D printing workflows and working with PDFs.

Key new features include the new Drawing Compare Palette, which allows for the comparison between two CAD files. Alterations are highlighted for users to quickly understand the changes that are made to a file and use green and red colors to differentiate items that are new versus items that are eliminated.

The new Data Extraction Wizard in CorelCAD 2021 for macOS is a highly useful power feature.

There are also new Associative Patterns that help users adjust levels, number of copies, columns, rows, and distances between elements as a simple click and drag action. Version 2021 can open, edit, and save files with the latest AutoCAD (.dwg) file format—including the new ability to edit AutoCAD dynamic blocks and save them as custom blocks in CorelCAD. Working with PDFs has also been improved; now users can output bitmap and vector designs to PDF with more control, like setting the quality of raster and vector images when exporting PDF. And on the Windows version of CorelCAD 2021, the Print Dialog has been streamlined into one main window, simplifying printing operations.

Mac Features

The macOS version now features the same Data Extraction Wizard that was introduced last year on the Windows version. This feature parity means working with creating and editing BOMs, parts catalogs and order lists and more is just as easy on the Mac version as on Windows.

CorelCAD 2021 also supports Apple’s latest macOS operating system, Big Sur. Additionally, this version also runs on Macs with the M1 chip (Apple Silicon)

“CorelCAD 2021 offers a robust set of design tools that make it easy to achieve professional results, faster than before,” said Klaus Vossen, Senior Product Manager, Graphics at Corel. “The new Drawing Compare Palette enables designers to compare differences between two drawing files, providing a quicker way to understand or showcase changes that have been made by team members or external stakeholders. Plus, new Associative Pattern commands empower users to intelligently modify 2D or 3D elements in a drawing file with speed. With these new time-saving enhancements, CorelCAD 2021 delivers serious productivity gains.”

CorelCAD 2021 is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Czech, Polish, Russian, Turkish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
