The very latest versions of BIMcollab ZOOM and BCF Managers offer full support for customizable and mandatory fields and BIM managers with a Connected Plan are now able to set up a tailor-made workflow across the entire BIMcollab ecosystem.

BIMcollab Updates

Additionally, working with issues is now two times faster and publishing large batches is 15 percent faster.

Custom and mandatory fields are created by customers who require more strict compliance workflows on their projects beyond the BCF standard. This enables firms to setup information workflow standards and forces compliance with them.

BIMcollab ZOOM 3.2 enables users to filter models intelligently by various classifications like looking at firewall ratings in this screenshot here.

Gerben Bouthoorn, product owner BIMcollab ZOOM said, “The ability to define and work with issue properties that contain your own relevant data can be the key to an optimal workflow. BIM issue management has never before been this structured and customizable integrated into model validation tools…”

Open Tekla BIMsights projects in BIMcollab ZOOM

In the latest release, BIMcollab ZOOM can now open Tekla BIMsight package files (.tbp). BIMcollab aims to be as accessible to as many stakeholders as possible. Tekla users simply export Tekla BIMsight projects to a package and they will be able to open them in ZOOM for effective collaboration.

BCF-API—For 3rd Party CDEs

In these new versions, the open standardized BCF (BIM collaboration format) API (application programming interface) is now supported. This means KUBUS has opened up the possibility that in the near future BIMcollab ZOOM can connect to all BCF Managers to 3rd party issue management systems or Common Data Environments (CDEs).

Model Validation Integrated with Issue Management

BIMcollab ZOOM part of the BIMcollab ecosystem for issue management and allows users to view and check BIM models. The integration with BIMcollab allows users to share Smart views and Clash rules with team members to share knowledge, best practices, or even IDM’s.

BIMcollab ZOOM 3.2 now includes the ability to open Tekla BIMsight package files.

A simple and highly effective user-interface brings powerful options to analyze, check, and validate IFC data. Users can instantly create issues, helping BIM managers inform modelers in their offices about clashes or other modeling errors. The use of ZOOM by building owner-operators and their representatives enables these stakeholders to monitor and track project progress and even join the communication workflow.

The ability to instantly create issues helps BIM managers to inform modelers right away about clashes or other model-errors. The ease of use of ZOOM also allows building owners and other stakeholders to keep a close eye on project progress, or even to join the communication workflow.

Availability and Platforms

BIMcollab ZOOM/Pro 3.2 is available for both Apple and Windows platforms. BCF Managers allow users to connect their BIM authoring and management tools with BIMcollab Cloud. These BCF Managers are used to import and export BCF files which can then be used for collaboration tools with project stakeholders and collaborators.
