IMSI Design Releases New TurboCAD 2019

IMSI® Design, a leading CAD software developer, has announced the release of its TurboCAD 2019 product line, including Platinum, Professional, Deluxe and Designer versions for Windows desktop PCs.

TurboCAD 2019 includes over three dozen new and improved features.

01 – TurboCAD 2019 is now out and available for the Windows platform.

The new 2D drafting and editing features in version 2019 offer some powerful workflow streamlining features, including new tools like Construct Similar Tool, which takes the properties from a referenced object and applies them to the construction of the next object. The tool provides a fast and efficient method to assign objects properties such as line fonts, dimension styles, and wall properties with a single click.

The Ribbon UI (user-interface) is now fully customizable, including the ability to add or rename tools, groups, and tabs. 4K monitor support is now fully supported and optimized for large 4K monitors. New dynamic sliders enable the UI to be resized for optimal readability on higher resolution displays. There are also several 3D drawing or modeling improvements in this release, like three additional blend types added to the Fillet Edges tool.

On the architectural front, there are BIM Tool enhancements. Data collection of IFC files has been improved and the BIM palette now shows the BIM file structure. Additionally, the BIM tool and the BIM Palette’s UI have now become more tightly integrated, making the architectural modeling of parts easier to use. There are also performance enhancements to Architectural Desktop (ADT) objects, on both the feature level and the performance level.

TurboCAD 2019 features a new LightWorks® rendering engine and Sun and Sky Shader. The LightWorks engine has been upgraded to v9.3. Sun direction can be set to be geo-located. RedSDK for LightWorks Porting means that older RedSDK rendered images can be accurately and automatically converted to a LightWorks rendered image.

Interoperability

TurboCAD 2019 is compatible with AutoCAD 2019 and can import/export the popular CAD standard format, in addition to DWF and DXF. STL file improvements further advance to the CAD application for those doing 3D printing workflows. A new 3D Print Check option has been added when exporting an STL file. This tool checks a part for the following common topological errors such as non-manifold edges, duplicated and collapsed facets, open edges, shells and more.

The Print Check tool also displays geometry information such as extents, number of facets/vertices, area, and volume. When saving an STL file, the user is given the option of performing a print check on the 3D model
