Abvent has announced that its Twinmotion 2018 has been chosen to demonstrate the awesome power of the new iMac Pro (2018). And awesome power it is. Apple has presented a large series of performance benchmarks comparing it to both the top of the line iMac and the Mac Pro.

Twinmotion 2018—VR Solution for the Mac Platform

HTC’s Vive VR headset is shown next to the iMac Pro running Abvent’s Twinmotion 2018. Featured on more than 169 official Apple websites, Twinmotion 2018 is exemplifying a modern VR imaging workflow. Readers may recall that Twinmotion 2018 is the first version of the software for the macOS platform and this is largely due to the adoption of the latest Unreal game engine, itself a technology that is making its way into many professional tools.

Key Takeaway

While Twinmotion 2018 plays a star on Apple’s iMac Pro page—always a beneficial boost to one’s marketing—a revealing stat on Cinema 4D reveals that the GPU performance jump between the 27-in iMac Pro Radeon Pro 580 GPU and the iMac Pro’s Pro Vega 64 is quite huge. There is a 1.8x performance jump and the Vega 64 is more than 2x better than the FirePro D700 on the Mac Pro as well.

The macOS version of the Unreal Editor is also shown on the iMac Pro, for those game developers who prefer to develop games on the Mac.

Apple Assisted Development

Abvent’s Twinmotion development team has been “assisted by Cupertino’s renowned developers to finalize the macOS” version of Twinmotion 2018. This development by Abvent has “placed Apple firmly in the hands of architecture and design professionals—thanks to its amazing 3D immersion and real-time VR exploration capabilities.”
