Vectorworks at GreenBuild 2016

Vectorworks, Inc., will be on-hand exhibiting at GREENBUILD 2016 this year. Their all new Vectorworks 2017 product line will be showcased, which includes Energos energy modeling technology. Visitors to their booth can also learn from experts about eco-design methods using building information modeling. François Lévy, AIA, author of BIM in Small-Scale Sustainable Design, will be discussing these topics using Vectorworks 2017.

Other conference presenters include Chad Hamilton, AIA, LEED AP, and Amy Fisher, AIA, at the Vectorworks booth on Wednesday, 5 October 2016 from 10:45 am to 1:45 pm.

Autodesk Adds Cloud-Based PDM to Fusion Lifecycle

Autodesk’s Fusion 360 product line continues to advance apace. At Accelerate 2016, the company announced that the online platform gets its first-ever end-to-end cloud PLM (product lifecycle management) solution.

With the new features, Fusion Lifecycle now covers the entire concept-to-market workflow, making it the first end-to-end PLM solution in the cloud. You can learn more about Fusion Lifecycle here online at the In the Fold blog.

Trimble’s Tekla Releases New Software

Trimble’s Tekla subsidiary has announced the release of two new software versions this September—Tekla Structures 2016i and Tekla Structural Designer 2016i. The note on its website reads: “When developing the two new versions of our software solutions, we have continued to listen to our customers.”

Some key new features in Tekla Structures 2016i include a new steel bent plates and concrete pour units functionality, as well as much easier and flexible tools for working with drawings and sketching drawings. In Tekla Structural Designer 2016i, improvements in foundation design, seismic design and the analysis of openings in core walls and the ability to work with Timber Glulam databases features in this release, plus export to STAAD.
