PTC Sponsoring MassChallenge
Needham, Massachusetts-based PTC has announced its sponsorship of MassChallenge, an accelerator for startup businesses that helps high-impact, early stage entrepreneurs with the resources they need to succeed.
Through the sponsorship, PTC will be able to identify and source startups that have high potential for advancing developments in the Internet of Things (IoT), AR (augmented reality), big data analytics, and security spaces—all key areas for PTC. You can read the full report here.
Vectorworks Inc. Headline Sponsor for Build Earth Hyperloop Competition
Design teams from around the world have been invited to create a plan for a link between Dubai and Abu Dhabi with a supersonic Hyperloop, in the latest challenge in the annual Build Earth Live series.
Created by Asite, with the headline sponsorship by Vectorworks, Inc., the competition exists to showcase how new technology is revolutionizing construction. Teams are tasked with joining together in collaborative work using building information modeling (BIM) technology. Trimble Connect Updates
Recently Trimble updated Trimble Connect. One of the biggest updates is the new version is the new Trimble Connect App Store, where you can find Trimble Connection applications that extend functionality of the BIM-AEC collaboration tool.
Another new feature is the new BIM Model Tree public-level API, to further increase access to BIM model tree data. Also new is Trimble Connect Sync, currently in beta.
Trimble Connect Sync is a discreet application that installs on your computer. It works in keeping your local files on your computer sync’d with projects on Trimble Connect. In other words, it works like a Dropbox between your computer and Trimble Connect, allowing individual folders and files to be selected for the sync-up.
