GRAPHISOFT the leading BIM software developer for architects and designers announced in Budapest, Hungary that MCA Arquiteture of Brazil has won the Grand Prize in the XII. Grande Prêmio de Arquitetura Corporativa in the Green Building – Public Construction category for its design of the Sebrae-ES headquarters.
The Sebrae-ES project
Due to its location, it was very challenging from a legislation point of view that resulted in—using Building Information Modeling—for an innovative and outstanding design.
The building boasts 15 items of sustainability, including water reuse, solar panels, use of sustainable materials and finishes, as well as the proper orientation of the building, which took into account the local climate. This year, there were 1,098 entries across 20 categories.
The use of ARCHICAD in the development of designs
According to Carlos Eduardo Calmon, a founding partner of MCA Architecture, “The use of ARCHICAD in this project was essential to its success; we used all available resources to develop the project beginning with the preliminary studies, detailed design and compatibility with other disciplines.”
Sebrae-ES is a special case for GRAPHISOFT, not only because of the outstanding quality of the project, but also because MCA Architecture used all the unique tools the software developer has to offer, proving the benefits of innovation in the construction industry workflow for green solutions. BIMx Pro was invaluable during the detailing phase containing over 700 layouts.
