Graphisoft, the global leader in Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions for architects, announced today that it has acquired the ArchiCAD and Artlantis distribution unit of Cigraph, its first distributor partner in Italy, as part of a strategic market development plan in Europe.

Cigraph

Graphisoft and Cigraph have agreed that Graphisoft Italy will take on most of Cigraph’s employees in its newly-formed Italian office. Graphisoft Italy will continue to sell all Graphisoft products with the current Italian ArchiCAD reseller partners, and will offer SSA services directly to customers located in Italy.  Cigraph will continue operations from its current location.

01 - GRAPHISOFT's new ArchiCAD 18 and its company BIMcloud technology are now available in 4 markets and rolling out to 23 others markets around the globe over the next few weeks and months.

01 – GRAPHISOFT’s new ArchiCAD 18 and BIMcloud are leading BIM software solutions used worldwide.

Cigraph’s partnership with Graphisoft dates back to 1984. With over 30 years of deep product and market knowledge in Italy, Cigraph will now focus on two core business activities:

  1. Research on ArchiCAD and Artlantis training methodology and services offered to the Italian market, and:
  2. Continued software development of ArchiSuite, which will now be expanded to include more vertical market solutions than prior offerings

“We are excited about this new phase in Cigraph’s history, and look forward to continuing our efforts to grow the ArchiCAD market in Italy through expanded training and research opportunities,” said Istvan Toth, President of Cigraph.

ArchiSuite

The Cigraph team has always consisted of some skilled programmer talent and their ArchiSuite software is a popular grouping of individual ArchiCAD plugins. As add-on software, ArchiSuite plugins add functions to ArchiCAD that are not built into the main BIM program itself.

ArchiSuite 18 has 18 different plugin tools to it. The latest plugin is ArchiTiles 2. Plugins include tools for designing, tools for more advanced modeling and terrain modeling, and tools for communication needs. Finally, there are tools for work with data and verification. ArchiSuite 18 works on both Mac and Windows versions of ArchiCAD 18. To be clear, the Cigraph Factory team responsible for the development of ArchiSuite appears to not be included in this acquisition and will remain an independent development firm.
