GRAPHISOFT, the global leader in Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions for architects, announced today that ArchiCAD 16’s global rollout process has begun. In addition, the company’s new portal for custom BIM components, BIMComponents.com, has been unveiled as well.

The release of ArchiCAD 16 delivers key and new functionality to end users around the world with such new tools as the MORPH Tool, an optimal solution for creating custom BIM components, custom structures and elements for building design. ArchiCAD 16 also features built-in energy evaluation driven by dynamic, hour-by-hour weather data of a building’s location.

BIMComponents.com is not just a new community portal but a technology that is fully integrated into the ArchiCAD 16 interface itself, enabling powerful search and discovery of BIM components as well as the ability to share one’s own components with the whole community.

Shipping started with the International, US and German versions, the first three of 26 local versions that will reach the market by end of Q3 2012.
