Pixologic unveiled Release 2 for ZBrush version 4 at SIGGRAPH Vancouver this month. The product for Windows and Mac will be available for purchase on September 20th, coming up.
At their booth they had standing room only presentations from industry experts from studies like Digital Domain, Sony, EA and others. ZBrush 4 R2 includes major enhancements as well as new features. Those who purchase ZBrush from now until the release of R2 in September will obtain version 4 R2 for free.
The company is not releasing all the features just yet but one new feature is the improved rendering in the Best Preview Renderer. This has been updated to a full 32-bits floating-point HDR pipeline. The new release is capable of rendering extremely high quality images while utilizing improved materials, lights and environments.
