Hottest new stars in Architecture do their work with ArchiCAD

Leading young architecture firms utilize ArchiCAD for their critical practices.

Graphisoft announced that this week at the Build Boston 2010 convention some of the rising stars of architecture will be co-hosting a round-table discussion about BIM in their critical practices. A panel session titled “BIM and the Young Firm” will be held this coming Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 3:30pm – 5 pm at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.

The session will play host to some of the hottest new design stars in architectural practice and will be moderated by Greg Conyngham, architect and president of Integrated CADD Services (ICS) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the New England value-added reseller for Graphisoft’s leading BIM solution ArchiCAD.

These advanced design studios all use ArchiCAD, the BIM software created by Graphisoft of Hungary. ArchiCAD was originally created by architects for architects and it is this connection to the realities of a design practice that has won them over to BIM with ArchiCAD. By working in three dimensions at all times architects can focus on their core competence (design), while affectively collaborating with ArchiCAD’s world leading collaboration technologies.

Four-year-old over,under is taking particular advantage of ArchiCAD’s flexibility and collaboration capabilities. “As a young firm, we’re extremely interested in how new technology informs our work,” says principal Chris Grimley. over,under uses ArchiCAD Teamwork to coordinate collaboration in its Boston offices, and the GRAPHISOFT BIM Server is helping the company go global.

Seattle’s b9 Architects, winner of the 2010 AIA Seattle Young Architect Award, uses ArchiCAD to inject new life into blighted environments thorugh agile design, easy collaboration and powerful visualization.

Build Boston runs from Wednesday, November 18, through Friday, November 20. The panelist will be available for conversations with conference attendees in the Graphisoft booth (#630) on Thursday from 1pm – 3pm during the show.
