French-based BoA for Intel has been updated with minor new features and a round of bug fixing.

The all Intel version of BoA, a French-based 3D architectural CAD software package available in International English and French, has been updated with minor improvements and bug fixes.

BoA Update

There are several new features in this update. In the Text palette the function “set non horizontal text” has been broken into two functions instead of one. One function is to wrap the text and the second function is to set the text on a completed line. Also a “flag” has been added to the blocks functionalities. It is now possible to hide the edges of a block so that only the faces of a block remain visible. The flag is a checkbox in the Edit Block dialog palette.

Yet another new minor feature is the new option 45 degree shadow choice in the hidden line manager. Moreover, the four (4) elevation item in the Windows menu has been replaced by a palette to show the elevation data in an easier way. Lastly, a PDF file imported into BoA can now be shown by page instead of just limited to the first page — useful for multi-page PDF files.

Interface Improvements

With the user interface there are now three (3) main preference managers instead of two (2). These now comprise the following:

  • Preferences: General preferences (like export parameters, etc.)
  • File Utilities: Work parameters (like snap, etc.)
  • List Utilities: List managers like Layers, etc.
The purpose is to allow the users to open two managers at the same time. For example someone who wants to see the layers manager whilst working with something like hidden line settings in the File Utilities or Preferences.
There are also several new bug fixes in this version, including one that addressed cut blocks by two points method when using an L connected block. Also new is Unicode text management, while previously it was ASCII. Some bugs in the dimension palette have been fixed and some hatching and misdrawn parts have been corrected.  Overall this is a fairly large update to the French 3D architectural CAD program.
Those interested in BoA (which used to be written out as BOA several years ago) should dig deep into Architosh’s past write-ups on it or ask questions in our forums.
