ACCIONA Adopts ArchiCAD 13 for BIM

Dow Jones Sustainability Index company Acciona of Spain, has adopted Graphisoft’s ArchiCAD as its BIM Solutions platform — company operates in 30 countries around the globe

ACCIONA, a pioneer in the use of BIM methodology and management in the construction phase of AEC, has announced that there research and development department has selected Graphisoft’s ArchiCAD 13 as its standard model-based design and documentation productivity solution. ArchiCAD will facilitate the sharing of project files and increase productivity, thereby enhancing competitiveness for the firm.

ACCIONA is one of the foremost Spanish business corporations with leadership in the development and management of infrastructure, renewable energy, water and services. Listed on the select Ibex-35 stock exchange index and the Dow Jones Sustainability indices, it is benchmark for the market. It has presence in more than 30 countries and a global employee base of over 35,000. As part of its R&D department, which has a budget over 500 million euro, Graphisoft’s BIM solution will standardize their practices.

“This is all about an integration system that will help link all departments–education, quality control, engineering, et cetera–allowing us to work interactively on a single projec file and share our progress in real time,” said Fernando Blanco, Visualization and Sub-area Coordinator of 3D Modeling at ACCIONA’s R&D department.

ArchiCAD was used for the new Leon Airport Terminal.
