Chaos has executed another industry first by introducing a traffic simulation system for architectural visualization (ArchViz). Visualization professionals and teams now have the ability to simulate realistic automotive traffic in their designs, utilizing a library of ready-to-use vehicles.
Traffic Simulation in ArchiViz
Traffic simulation in architectural visualization isn’t important to all architectural projects, but it is rather useful for many projects, especially those in urban situations. By introducing traffic simulation with Anima’s robust human library, visualization artists can create believable traffic flow in their animations.
“Even though traffic is such an integral part of our daily lives, archviz teams have never had an easy way to depict it,” said Diego Gadler, creator of Chaos Anima. “Now, they can just point, click, and drag out routes in seconds, enabling realistic car and pedestrian traffic that would have been time-prohibitive to do before.”
Chaos Anima 6
Previously known as Anima ALL, Chaos Anima allows visualization professionals to populate scenes rapidly with hundreds of animated vehicles. The vehicles behave realistically, including following standard traffic rules and believably interacting with pedestrians. Cars, SUVs, and trucks are added to the Anima library and are used just like the human people in the library.
We use Anima in all of our animation projects, and we’re very excited about what the new version brings.
“We use Anima in all of our animation projects, and we’re very excited about what the new version brings,” said Francesco Testa, Co-founder at Prompt Studio. “If the new vehicle simulation system is anything like their people simulation tool, it’s going to be a game changer for animation production in the archviz industry — making Anima even more essential to our workflow.”
New Graphics Engine
Anima 6 introduces a new graphics engine created to dramatically improve performance on large-scale simulations. This means more simultaneous characters and a higher volume of vehicles in real-time simulations.
The Anima character library now exceeds 4,000 assets, with more than 200 new models added over the past few months. This includes a wide variety of ethnicities, professionals, and clothing options. ArchViz pros can add extremely realistic moving or stationary people to animated scenes, including facial features such as talking and laughing. People can also run and not just walk, enabling joggers.
Availability and Access
Anima 6 runs integrates with leading digital content creation (DCC) software systems, including 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, and Unreal Engine. It works only on the Windows versions of these DCCs.
