Designed for solo practitioners and small teams, Archicad Studio delivers a comprehensive BIM solution with end-to-end design and documentation workflows and technologies for collaboration and sophisticated 3D visualizations.

Archicad Studio

“With AEC technology evolving at such a rapid pace, we want solo practitioners to have access to cutting-edge BIM software innovations as soon as they hit the market,” said Gábor Kovács-Palkó, Senior Director of Product Portfolio Strategy at Graphisoft. “Archicad Studio achieves exactly that — affordable access to Archicad’s powerful BIM workflow at a competitive price point scaled to the solo practitioner’s needs.”

The new Archicad Studio subscription option gives architects more choices with Graphisoft’s licensing plans.

The Archicad Studio subscription plan also includes local Teamwork functions and is available in the user’s local language. The popular innovative BIM solution runs on both macOS and Windows computers and workstations and boasts Graphisoft’s cloud-based AI Visualizer among the ability to use BIMcloud Basic—with its cloud-based features available with a paid BIMcloud subscription.

Other features include:

  • BIMx mobile app for iOS and Android
  • BIMx Pro features
  • Archicad extensions, like Python API, PARAM-O, Maxon Redshift Renderer, Library Parts Maker and additional Surface Catalog
  • Training and more.

BIMcloud Basic is on-prem Teamwork server technology using Delta Technology from Graphisoft. Working on a LAN at an office users can send changes through the network to the BIMcloud Basic server. You can learn more about Graphisoft’s BIMcloud solutions here.

Architosh Commentary and Analysis

This license option will likely be popular with both solo practitioners and small offices with fewer than five people and who not need to work remotely in a collaborative way. Users can setup BIMcloud Basic on any basic Windows or macOS computer on their network LAN. Today’s powerful Mac mini computers with their high performance per cost ratio are ideal for any office. To add in cloud features however where users can work in teams remotely BIMcloud with cloud-based features will need a subscription plan.
