At BAU 2025, the leading trade show in the EU for architecture, materials, and systems, the Nemetschek Group introduced a new technology called AI Assitant, starting with its deployment into two of its many brands—ALLPLAN and Graphisoft.

AI Assistant

The new Nemetschek AI Assistant is part of the core solutions within the AI strategy of the Nemetschek Group. This new AI technology is designed to simplify and automate workflows as well as foster improved collaboration.

Nemetschek Group introduces AI Assistant at BAU 2025 in Europe.

“Our AI Assistant represents a foundational shift in how we approach innovation and collaboration. By unifying our ecosystem with a seamless, intelligent AI Assistant and by combining cutting-edge AI capabilities with decades of expertise in the AEC/O industry, we are enabling our users to push boundaries and reimagine workflows while offering trust and reliability,” says Charles Sheridan, Chief AI & Data Officer at the Nemetschek Group.

Also, Julian Geiger, VP, Head of AI Product at Nemetschek remarks:

The AI Assistant is our first AI agent-based technology, and it builds on the AI layer announced in October 2024. The AI Assistant delivers a consistent and cohesive user experience across our brands, empowering users to enhance creativity and productivity with smarter tools while seamlessly transitioning between brands through a familiar interface.”

Inside Archicad and Allplan

Inside of Archicad, the AI Assistant is directly embedded in the BIM app as an integrated chatbot that can provide product knowledge about Archicad, industry insights, BIM model queries—which can be very useful—and AI Visualizer integration.

Inside Allplan (the product), the AI Assistant showcases multi-touchpoint functionality by extending its capabilities to the Internet. It also provides product knowledge, industry insights and advanced tools to take on complex projects.

While some of this is easy to imagine how it would work, other features mentioned are not and will require visual examples. However, the Nemetschek Group’s aim of delivering AI technologies that are common to all of its Group sub-brands and their products is definitely noteworthy as it leverages the benefits of integrated research and development as well as innovation capture from sub-brands.

The Nemetschek Group aims to expand AI Assistant to other brands within the company in 2025 and onwards. To learn more about Nemetschek Group visit here.

Architosh Analysis and Commentary

We have already noted the strategic shift happening at the Nemetschek Group with its principle of elimination of duplication of efforts (among its brands) and with its new centralized AI technology group headed by Charles Sheridan and Julian Geiger, both formerly from Google. We think this new strategy is a force multiplier for the Nemetschek Group and its brands. Its BIM brands in particular have always been competitors in the markets, including amongst themselves. This “co-opetition” strategy is an improvement for the Group’s overall market performance and reflects another consideration which is the maturity of the BIM market where firms seems to be steadfast and fixed on their preferred BIM and CAD platforms.

The Nemetschek Group is recognizing that by leveraging both centralized innovation as well as the existent distributed innovation centers among its many brand companies, it can streamline operations and propel its many products with deeper and increased levels of innovation and feature updates.
