Austin, Texas-based workstation maker BOXX Technologies has been shipping new APEXX S3 and S4 workstations with the new Intel Core Ultra processors since October. The new Intel Core Ultra chips are the latest advanced silicon from the American chip giant, designed to compete with rival semiconductors from AMD, Apple, and Qualcomm.
BOXX Workstations
BOXX workstations are a trusted brand for custom and pre-configured workstations for AEC, DCC, and M&E industries, as well as scientific and medical computing. The company makes workstations, rendering systems, and servers for these high-performance computing industries.
APEXX S-Class workstations now feature the new Intel Core Ultra 7 and Ultra 9 CPUs, delivering excellent performance for CAD, BIM, 3D design, motion media, and other professional software applications. As is often the case, BOXX Technologies is the first to the workstation market with these new Intel processors.
“Intel Core Ultra processors unlock new levels of performance with features like AI optimization, increased PCIe lanes, and maximized peripheral connectivity,” said BOXX founder and Chief Technical Officer Tim Lawrence. “Whether you’re 3D modeling, video editing, engineering, designing, or utilizing AI enhancements, BOXX APEXX S-class systems powered by Intel Core Ultra processors will accelerate your creative applications and render engines through their most demanding tasks.”
Intel Ultra Core
The new chips feature Intel’s 24-hybrid core architecture and leading industry technologies designed to improve software efficiency. Such features include:
- Multiple CPU cores
- 24 total CPU PCIe lanes
- New AI capabilities in silicon
BOXX Technologies has coupled these Intel chips with advanced liquid cooling and 192 GB of memory. The smaller APEXX S3 tower is configurable with NVIDIA RTX or NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs, while the larger APEXX S4 can fit up to two NVIDIA GPUs. Both systems feature DDR5 memory with Thunderbolt 5 and WiFi 7 enable fast connections.
These systems are purpose-built for pro apps like SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Maya, Autodesk Revit, Maxon Cinema 4D, Chaos V-Ray and more.
“The new Intel® Core™ Ultra processors available now inside our APEXX S-class workstations maximize application performance for architects, engineers, 3D designers, and motion media creators,” said Kirk Schell, CEO, BOXX Technologies. “When you couple these best-in-class CPUs with BOXX innovative engineering like overclocking, liquid cooling, and expandability, creators have all the ingredients necessary to realize their vision, accelerate their workflow and outpace their competition, while experiencing genuine workstation ROI.”
