ARKANCE, formerly U.S. CAD, has announced its new ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud) Bluebeam Connector. The new software solution enables two-way data communication and integration between Autodesk Build, Autodesk Docs, and Autodesk BIM 360 with Bluebeam Studio.

The new solution solves an existing problem in the US and other major construction markets where general contractors are utilizing both Bluebeam Studio sessions and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) solutions.

Bluebeam is now integrated into ACC by ARKANCE.

As the world’s largest Platinum Partner for Autodesk and Bluebeam, US CAD (Arkance) has unique capabilities to integrate these two popular solutions in the industry. Arkance CEO Greg Arranz notes:

ARKANCE is proud to be the first to implement this powerful integration. Our ACC-Bluebeam connector ensures a smooth exchange of information, enabling our customers to optimize their workflows and achieve more effective project outcomes. This integration supports our mission to enhance interoperability between leading cloud and desktop solutions, empowering our customers to achieve better project outcomes while reducing friction in their day-to-day operations.

This new integration allows AEC customers to gain the joint benefits of Bluebeam’s industry-leading PDF editing tools and ACC’s robust project management capabilities. Due to the cloud-based nature of this connection, users can take advantage of the new Bluebeam to ACC connector from anywhere on any device, including on mobile, without the need for desktop applications.

ARKANCE developed this connector in response to industry input that is demanding greater interoperability between leading software solutions, even from rival competitors. ARKANCE seeks to tackle these common challenges and build a future where effective interoperability between solutions is the industry standard rather than the exception.

Architosh Analysis and Commentary

While not officially connected in any way between the historic Autodesk + Nemetschek Group API sharing partnership agreement, ARKANCE’s new ACC-Bluebeam connector is directly reflective of the mission of that partnership.

How it Works

ARKANCE’s solution works through its new ARKANCE Construction Hub. The Hub solution works to seamlessly connect AEC customers and their data stored in Autodesk Construction Cloud or Trimble Connect through a straightforward and intuitive user interface. From within the Hub you sign into both ACC and your Bluebeam accounts and from there the user can create a new Bluebeam Studio session. The attendees to the session are semi-auto fed through a drop-down menu that lists users from the ACC project. You can also add someone not in ACC via an email invite.

The main session window shows the ACC folder structure and the right side shows the Bluebeam Studio session. A list of all active sessions also can appear, including sessions that have ended. From this point you access the Bluebeam session via Revu (on Windows computers), mobile (via Apple iOS or Android apps), and web (via a browser from any modern computer). Once the session has taken place and markups have been added to the document in the session, you can upload the PDF back to ACC via the connector in the hub.
