Bluebeam has enabled Studio Session collaboration on the web and mobile without the need for the desktop version of Bluebeam Revu, its flagship desktop solution only available on Microsoft Windows. The latest capability comes with the update and enhancements to Revu 21.2.

Studio Sessions Everywhere

Studio Sessions are a signature star feature of Bluebeam Revu’s collaboration capabilities, enabling multiple users in remote-based workflows to collaborate on document markups. This capability has always required Bluebeam Revu for desktop use. This latest update, however, will enable collaboration anywhere without having to download the desktop solution and thus empower project users and stakeholders, including those on Mac computers, to access Sessions from the comfort of their web browsers or mobile devices.

Bluebeam Sessions are now available on the web and mobile and this also benefits Mac users who can collaborate in Studio Sessions through the web browser on their Mac.

Bluebeam Chief Technology Officer Jason Bonifay explains:

We’re dedicated to fostering a connected experience and delivering meaningful enhancements that delight our customers. Bluebeam’s latest updates are designed to help users work smarter, not harder, by freeing them from their desktops, automating routine tasks, and providing intuitive tools that make it easier to build and create with Bluebeam.

New features in Revu 21.2 include the productivity gains of being able to search their Tool Chest, keyboard markup status shortcuts, and improved markup list exports. Version 21.1 also introduced an improvement to the algorithm that powers the recently released AI-powered Auto Align capability for faster drawing comparisons.

Bluebeam has also provided a new way for users to share product-related ideas and feedback through the Revu help menu, which is integrated with the newly launched Bluebeam Community. And support for non-persistent VMs (virtual machines) has also been updated in this latest update, allowing admins to easily configure more reliable access to Revu for their users.
