Both senior associate editor Pete Evans, AIA, IDSA and I will attend the American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Convention in Washington, D.C., later this week. We have meetings lined up with all the major architecture industry software vendors attending the convention and exhibition and look forward to reporting on the exciting product offerings they will be showcasing in DC.
10th BEST of SHOW
This year will mark the 10-year anniversary of Architosh’s BEST of SHOW honors, given to the companies with the most exciting and well-executed digital solutions presented at the conference (on the exhibition floor or in a session).
The BEST of SHOW honors are organized into several categories, including Emerging Technology, Innovation, BIM, Cloud, and Visualization. Last year, a new category was added: the Economics Prize award. Last year’s winners are discussed here.
The first Economics Prize winner was given to Vectorworks Architect 2023, and you can read about why in this detailed coverage of AIA23 in San Francisco here.
Digital Technologies at AIA24
As noted earlier, Architosh has meetings scheduled with executives and product managers at all the leading AEC software companies in attendance. We will explore both current product offerings and upcoming technologies demoed to us. In the Technology Pavilion, companies like Autodesk, Trimble, Bluebeam, Graphisoft, Vectorworks, Chaos Enscape, Snaptrude, Trimble SketchUp, and many others will introduce their solutions to thousands of architects.
Architosh encourages architects able to attend the AIA Conference to do so, even just for a day on the exhibition show floor, where hundreds of building product manufacturers exhibit their product offerings. Most software companies in attendance offer free Expo passes.
