Lemont’s prime objective is to scale and grow the Acelab platform. He briefly outlined his vision for the company:

“I am passionate about how blending technology and design can empower architects to create a better, more sustainable built environment for our communities. I joined Acelab because, just as Revit was fortunate to change an industry for the way buildings are designed, Acelab will influence how millions of design professionals automate one of the most tedious yet critical tasks: product research and specification.”

Growing Acelab

Lemont is joining Acelab during a time of significant growth. Architecture practices currently using its platform include well-known firms such as AECOM, Gensler, and SOM. Acelab’s product database boasts over 39,000 products across categories such as windows, doors, cladding, roofing, and insulation.

“Architects spend countless hours on Google searches, navigating manufacturer websites, and keeping track of this information in stickies and spreadsheets,” said Vardhan Mehta, co-founder and CEO of Acelab. “As a team of architects, we’ve built a platform that helps architects discover, compare and collaborate on product specs all in one place — saving valuable design time and maximizing project success. We’re thrilled to have Dave join Acelab as the company enters its next phase of expansion.”

Years of experience

Dave Lemont brings to Acelab more than three decades of experience in scaling software companies across various industries. He has held five CEO roles and ten board member positions. Throughout his career, Lemont  has launched, grown, and guided numerous software companies from inception through dramatic growth and success. He is an expert in identifying industry-changing ideas and building winning go-to-market strategies.

Additionally, Lemont has held numerous leadership roles at some of the world’s most successful B2B (business to business) software companies. He was also CEO at Kuebix, a leading transportation management system. Ultimately Trimble acquired Kuebix in 2020.

Prior to that, Lemont was CEO of AppIQ, a leader in Storage Management Software. AppIQ was acquired by HP, creating over six times the returns for its investors. Immediately prior to joining AppIQ, he was also CEO of Revit Technology. It is this experience that is likely to be of most value to Acelab. Lemont led the company through its successful 2002 acquisition by Autodesk.

Lemont also was also CEO of Currensee. This was the foreign exchange software company that Oanda took over back in 2013. Today, Oanda is one of the world’s largest foreign exchange brokers.

Earlier, Lemont was Chief Operating Officer at Concentra Corporation, a leading provider of CRM (customer relationship management) solutions for product configuration. Lemont led the company an IPO (Initial Public Offering) in 1996, and ultimately the sale of the company to Oracle Corporation.

Dave is also the founder of Lemont Consulting. Through this work, he has guided hundreds of entrepreneurs and been a member of eight different start-up boards. Prior to his business career, Lemont earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Bucknell University.
