BOXX Technologies, the leading innovator of high-performance computer workstations, rendering systems, and servers, has today announced a new workstation upgrade designed for the current challenging economy.
The new APEXX E3 workstation—and the E series means entry-level—features new 13th-generation Intel Core i7 and i9 CPUs to deliver important nontrivial performance improvements across CAD, BIM, and 3D software applications.
APEXX E3 — New
“Intel is making it easier than ever for creators to translate their visions into reality with the latest 13th Gen Intel Core processors,” says Intel’s Roger Chandler, Vice President and General Manager, Creator and Workstation Solutions, Client Computing Group.
“From intensive tasks like CAD and 3D modeling to video editing and game development, BOXX APEXX E3 systems powered by Intel Core processors deliver increased performance and responsiveness for professionals who expect the most out of their systems.”
The latest 13th-generation Intel Core i7 and i9 processors feature hybrid architecture designed to maximize system efficiency and take advantage of Intel technologies like Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0. They also feature 20 total CPU PCIe lanes and up to 36MB of Intel Smart Cache.
Intel is making it easier than ever for creators to translate their visions into reality with the latest 13th Gen Intel Core processors.
The APEXX E3 is an economical entry-level workstation that can deliver the benefits of the latest Intel processors fully boosted and custom tuned at BOXX with advanced liquid cooling and 5.8GHz max turbo frequency. They also boast up to 128GB of memory and an NVIDIA RTX A2000 GPU, plus the latest DDR5 memory and Thunderbolt 4.
“In a challenging economy, architects, engineers, 3D designers, and motion media artists often have to choose price over performance when making computer hardware decisions,” said Bill Leasure, BOXX VP of Sales and Marketing. “APEXX E3 featuring new 13th Gen Intel® Core™ processors is the perfect solution. It’s a lower cost workstation that is still a powerful upgrade over their current system and will keep them competitive creatively and solid financially.”
The new APEXX E3 workstations with 13th-generation Intel chips start at USD 2,965. To learn more visit here.
Architosh Analysis and Commentary
I’ll keep my commentary brief on this latest release. Here at Architosh, we’ve had a BOXX APEXX E-series workstation as our standard Windows-based test workstation for two years now. We could not be more pleased with BOXX as a workstation maker; their systems are excellent.
These latest APEXX E3 systems give professionals an entry point to the world of Intel Gen-13, also known as Raptor Lake. These chips utilize Raptor Cove performance cores and Gracemont efficiency cores. Geekbench processor benchmarks show the Intel Gen-13 chips out-performing both AMD and Apple’s M-series chips in single-core performance. The E-series workstations are ideal for lightly threaded workflows—that means using pro apps that don’t make substantial use of multi-core chips (ie: the code base is only lightly multithreaded).
The Intel Core i9-13900KF (24) chip has a single core (Geekbench) of 2227, beating out AMD’s highest performing Ryzen 9 processor. And with 24 cores, this chip makes an excellent option (Geekbench MC = 24,692) for when users do have multithreaded applications to run—like rendering apps. This makes these latest BOXX APEXX E3 workstations an excellent balance between lower cost and maximum performance systems.
