The idea for this project was initiated by New York City architecture firm, The UP Studio, and GRAPHISOFT, the makers of the popular BIM software Archicad, has supported this project as a unique public service announcement.
Build The Vote
Build The Vote uses the voice of talented architects to remind their colleagues—and all citizens—of the importance of voting in the 2020 election.
To make the original idea from The UP Studio a reality, GRAPHISOFT helped recruit three other acclaimed architecture firms to join The UP Studio project. The idea was to use a letter in the word “Vote” and turn it into an original 3D building that incorporates an issue of social importance at stake in the election.
The total of four 3D models—each designed by the four acclaimed firms—would be brought together in an immersive visual tour that ends with a view from above, revealing the buildings side-by-side to spell the word “Vote.”
Architects Involved
The architects who got involved in accepting this challenge included The UP Studio of New York City, Laney LA of Los Angeles, Landon Bone Baker of Chicago, and CORE architecture + design of Washington DC.
Each firm designed their building in 3D in Archicad and delivered them to an in-house GRAPHISOFT team for final assembly in Archicad and Epic’s Twinmotion platform for the final assembly into a complete visual environment and experience, which can be enjoyed in VR.
Both the immersive tour and a separate film with insights are available to watch and the entire program has been promoted to a variety of social media channels, media outlets, and to non-partisan voting rights organizations like vote.org.
