Corona Renderer 6 for Cinema 4D has been announced by Chaos Czech. The newly updated rendering engine for Maxon’s popular Cinema 4D application offers numerous improvements to give 3D artists more control over their 3D environments and greater visual quality.
Corona Renderer 6
The new software provides a new Sky Model that can now accurately depict twilight and dawn, providing gorgeous results to 2.85 degrees below the horizon. Chaos says that the new sky is easy to animate because the new sky model is procedural, enabling stunning animated time-lapses for sunrise and sunsets.
Additionally, multiple skies and suns can be added to any scene, so artists can toggle options like dusk and afternoon using LightMix. With the new Distance Map, artists can create procedural materials that understand their proximity to other objects in the scene. Some of the examples of uses of this technology are the ability to create ground-hugging fog, dirty window sills, and immaculate coastlines. Users can also use the map technologies to drive scattering whenever they want to add grass at different lengths.
