ODA DevCon 2020, the Open Design Alliance’s annual developer conference, is going virtual this year. The open industry consortium has announced the event will be held from 8 – 10 September 2020.
The ODA DevCon brings together CAD and BIM industry developers from across all sectors and industries, where they hear from the ODA and witness ODA technical roadmaps and network with industry professionals.
DevCon 2020
The developer conference will feature guest speakers from buildingSMART® International (bSI), Microsoft, Google, and Open Geospatial Consortium. Developers will be discussing their developments, sharing industry trends, best practices for CAD and BIM development, and the newest ODA technologies.
The ODA’s developer conference (DevCon) 2020 will be held virtually in 2020 this September.
The conference is packed for three days with sessions and talks. One day is now devoted to BIM innovation, while another is devoted to (.dwg) technologies. Finally, a third day is focused on the ODA’s technology stack.
The three themes in more detail include:
- BIM — innovative BIM technologies including new support for IFC 4×3 in ODA IFC SDK, toolkits for proprietary BIM data, and updates from industry partners
- DWG — the latest developments around the ODA’s industry-standard DWG technology, including Model Documentation and native (.dwg) version history
- ODA Technology Stack — the ODA will demonstrate solutions for visualization, cloud development, publishing, and facet and solid modeling. Cloud apps that integrate with BIM with IoT (Internet of Things), and a new integration for expanded MCAD format support.
The conference includes ODA member presentations from industry leaders that showcase the use of ODA technologies in real-world applications.
