A Highly Anticipated Stair Tool
This latest version of ARCHICAD features the highly-anticipated Stair Tool, based on GRAPHISOFT’s patent-pending Predictive Design™ technology. The new stair tech will greatly aid architects in the design and documentation of sophisticated and complex formative stairs in their buildings and technology like this is something users have been asking for.
The advanced parametric stair tools in ARCHICAD 21 feature the ability to not only adapt to advanced 3D shapes but feature built-in intelligence regarding both standard ergonomic and code standards for all stair conditions in buildings, making it vastly easier for architects to more freely develop stair configurations without having to worry and work through standards for rise and run, landings, and hand and guardrail conditions. Once stairs are created, because they are parametric, building design conditions such as increased or lowered floor to floor levels will power automatic configuration changes. When fundamental conditions violate standards notifications appear in the software to alert the architect that steps need to be taken next.
During the design process, architects are informed of multiple intelligent options for how the stairs can work while meeting code and standards. The new Stair Tool is just one aspect of the new tools and capabilities in ARCHICAD 21.
