Imagination Technologies News
Imagination Technologies has announced new Caustic ray-tracing hardware certification on Lenovo workstations. It’s Caustic Series2 R2500 and R2100 ray-tracing acceleration boards are now certified Lenovo ThinkStation (D30 and S30) add-ons.
Imagination’s Caustic Visualizer family, combined with its new Caustic Series2 add-in boards for workstations, redefine price performance standards and the functionality of the interactive visual look development process. Together they make ray-traced photorealistic rendering an integral part of the content creation workflow from the start. Offering acceleration speed rates across popular media and CAD 3D applications that can be five times faster than the already impressive performance of the Caustic Visualizer software, the Series2 boards provide an ideal upgrade path for artists and designers using Autodesk® Maya® and 3ds Max®, or Robert McNeel & Associates Rhino 5.

Bentley Ships Navigator Mobile for iPad
Bentley has shipped a new iPad app, Bentley Navigator Mobile. This will be one we need to add to our Ultimate iPad Guide: Apps for Architects series.
Navigator Mobile provides review capabilities on the iPad of next-generation i-models, which can include content from virtually any common AEC design application. Next-generation i-models package i-models (geometry data) with their related documents which can include spreadsheets, drawings and text documents. All this data can be accessed through Bentley ProjectWise Explorer Mobile, cloud services, and on iTunes.
Navigator Mobile lets you experience models with touch gestures and you can walk, fly, zoom and analyze objects in the model by reviewing properties of the selected object, query for related objects or filter for display.
You can create i-models for use with Navigator Mobile through the Explore trial service.
