Dassault Systemes free 2D professional CAD DraftSight for Mac is now in Beta 2. The original Beta 1 will expire on 30 November 2011, according to a note from Dassault.
DraftSight is Dassault’s attempt and directly challenging its main competition by offering a professional-level 2D CAD system with a familiar user interface and operating environment. Dassault Systemes has setup an exclusive online community and support area on the Web for DraftSight which you can visit here.
DraftSight runs on Windows, Mac and Linux, which makes it one of the only CAD systems in the world from a major CAD company that works across all three operating systems. The company has also announced a version for Apple’s iPad and iOS operating system.
