Nemetschek Vectorworks Inc., has announced news of the proposed State of Ohio BIM Protocol initiative. In their letter sent out to press and Vectorworks users they write: “The State Architect’s Office in Ohio is in the process of developing a Building Information Modeling (BIM) protocol, and they are holding a public comment period through December 2010.”
“If you practice architecture in the State of Ohio, we encourage you to take a look at the proposed document to see what impact it may have on your ability to do your work, with the design tools of your choice.”
Nemetschek encourages architects, even if they do not work in Ohio, to take a look at the language of the proposed Ohio State protocol as similar initiatives will and have taken shape in other states in the US.
Vectorworks-based architects can contact Robert Anderson, Vice President of Integrated Practice at randerson@vectorworks.net (or 410-290-5114) to learn more about how this protocol fits with Vectorworks Architect.
