HEATA (or Home Energy Assessment Tools for ArchiCAD 11/12) is a brand new software plugin for Graphisoft’s leading BIM (building information modeling) application. It is scheduled to be released in early September, coinciding with ArchiCAD Summer School (ACSS) in Nottingham, United Kingdom.
What is HEATA?
HEATA extends the capabilities of the standard ArchiCAD toolset to display and monitor energy usage for individual houses and multiple dwellings.
HEATA allows users to under the thermal impacts of aesthetic and formal decisions with a graphical interface. Overall performance, including annual CO2 emissions and fuel costs, as well as predicted SAP and Code for Sustainability Homes energy ratings are displayed in a dashboard (see image).
The program gives the architect clear feedback on the energy results from changes in spatial planning, fenestration design, and construction materials. With the SAP Calculator, changes are instantly updated in the SAP and dwelling CO2 emissions rate, making it easy to understand the impact of various energy strategies on code compliance.
