Informatix Software now under British Hands

Selective Software Holdings (SSH), a British-owned company, has purchased Informatix Software International Ltd. (ISI) — the makers of the popular Piranesi software and MicroGDS CAD system — from its Japanese parent company.

Informatix Software International (ISI) will retain its name but it’s home-base, where it will be run and managed, will be entirely within the UK. The company will retain all rights to its products worldwide, with the exception of Japan, where such rights will be retained by Informatix Inc.

Development, Management and Ownership now in Britain

The exciting part is that the future development of MicroGDS and Piranesi, 2D and 3D CAD rendering/model software, along with all future products will be undertaken by the existing technical team at the Cambridge, UK development centre. Furthermore new versions of MicroGDS and Piransi are due to be released later this year.

MicroGDS is designed to meet the 2D and 3D CAD needs of architects, engineers, facility planners, and interior designers. It is an easier software compared to those in its genre and has multi-user capabilities that makes it simple for team members to work on the same drawing simultaneously.

Piranesi is for creating both photorealistic and non-photorealistic renders of fully-detailed images either for marketing use, planning applications, or even award submissions. Unlike other rendering applications which use a “cutout” (a tree, person,  bike) in a render to show space, Piranesi gives an understanding of “depth” by scaling the cutout depending on its proximity to the viewer.
