The winning entry came from Flavio Adriani. Flavio is a 3D illustrator based in San Paulo in Brazil. He uses TrueSpace software with its integrated LightWorks rendering engine.
On hearing the news, Flavio said, “I am so happy that my image has been chosen as the winner of the LightWorks competition! Thanks to the powerful and intuitive LightWorks engine integrated into TrueSpace 7, I am able to create quality artistic illustrations incredibly fast.”
In addition, runners up prizes have been awarded to: Jeffrey Tomaka from New York, who used 2 LightWorks applications to create his ‘Frontline Modular Tray System’ image: Cobalt for the modelling and FormZ RenderZone for the rendering; and Marián Jurcak from Slovakia, for her ‘escalator’ image created using TurboCad.
Both runners up receive iTunes vouchers. To view the winning image and all of the ‘highly commended’ short list entries, please go to:

David Forrester, Managing Director at LightWork Design commented, “We had a fantastic response to the competition in 2008, with some outstanding images entered from around the world and we have included some of the winners in the new “featured users” section of our website. We are anticipating more high-quality entries during 2009 and look forward to seeing what LightWorks Users are able to produce this year.”
Entry to the next quarter of the competition is now open and LightWorks users are encouraged to send in their best work before the closing date of 31, March, 2009.
