The award-winning modo developer, Luxology LLC, has announced two major wins in the field of technology licensing agreements. Mechanical CAD heavyweight DS SolidWorks has agreed to utilize Luxology’s Nexus® rendering technology.
“Luxology has a strong emphasis on workflow in addition to very modern technology,” said Fielder Hiss, director of product management at DS SolidWorks. “We welcome them as a new technology partner and are excited to deploy their renowned rendering technology in our future product developments.”
Luxology’s technology licensing program enables partners to leverage the company’s Nexus software architecture to build targeted 2D and 3D applications for the PC and Mac platforms. modo 302 itself is a leading edge 3D application that fully leverages the modern underpinnings of Apple’s Mac OS X operating system.
In addition to DS SolidWorks, Bentley Systems, the global leader in software sustaining infrastructure and developer of the market leading MicroStation line of CAD products, has also licensed Nexus for future rendering functionality.
We’ve always delivered an outstanding set of visualization tools, and now, through our new licensing agreement with Luxology, we will provide our users with rendering technology that takes visualizations to an unsurpassed level of realism,” said Ray Bentley, Executive Vice President of Bentley Systems.
