Apple
introduced the all new
iBook, a sleek and smaller version which resembles the
Titanium PowerBook G4 more than its predecessor.
In the
news today Microsoft
is again in trouble on Anti-trust violations on tying
products together. This time XP and WMP 8. Additionally, MS
is now being sued by InterTrust, a provider of technology
for protecting songs and videos from being illegally copied.
Apparently MS's
new software infringes on their patents.
On a
more positive note. Go2Mac
has pics of the reported New York location for an Apple Store.
10,000 sf in a very very nice building. A reader asks? why
so much space? And our answer is because we think Apple will
showcase their gear in real life situations, complete with
walls and furniture. In other words,
a complete 'showcase of a digital lifestyle'.
Apple
blew past Wall Street expectations by posting a $40 million
profit on Wednesday. Pro product sales are up (especially
PowerBook G4)
but consumer sales indicate industry consumer downturn.

A reader
says Graphisoft has a hot new G4 running a Mac OS X build
of ArchiCAD 7 at CeBIT. We have been running Mac
OS X on a new Titanium PowerBook G4 and loving every minute
of it. Sure, there is lots to be done still on OS X, but you
are going to love what you can do with it now so much that
you will beg developers to finish their products for it. We
have a full series
of reports coming up during this week and next so stay
tuned ; )
On the
Megahertz front, Mac OS Rumors is reporting that 1
GHz G4 (7450's) are targeted for August. Read the full
report.
Also
in the report is news that IBM and Moto will team up on the
development of the G5 processor to address concerns that Moto
cannot keep up with the needs of the Mac platform.

Also
on Mac OS Rumors is a link to video footage of Apple's new
Palo Alto store under construction. The contractor is reportedly
Fisher Development
Inc., known for their work on Gap Stores. This is a top
notch construction firm folks! Good news for those hoping
Apple's retail chain would be cool. Now if we could just learn
who the architect is ; )
Well,
analysts are at it again, predicting mergers and acquisitions.
This time Apple
and Sun pair up! The full
