What's new and 'happening' around the Web

MacUser has a number of good articles right now. One in particular talks about how Adobe is targeting its video app, Adobe Premiere, at PC users by providing a lite version in OEM software bundles. Sony will be the first OEM to bundle this product in its new Vaio line. The natural upshot for Adobe is, as users get more advanced, they will move up to the full version of Premiere, a product that has taken a big hit due to Apple's Final Cut Pro professional video editing software.

MacUser also notes Sony's new lineup and its remarkable similarity to Apple's design heritage (with specific reference to the Mac portables in the new Vaio laptop). Mac users should find this very interesting. ; )

Technical and Valuable

OS X version 10.1 restores the traditional screen capture keyboard sequences. Command-Shift-3 to capture the whole screen and Command-Shift-4 to capture a selection.

Apple to WebCast its Quarterly Financial Results via QuickTime

Apple to provide Media Event Next Week for Special New Digital Device

C/net has the scoop on a planned media event next week at Cupertino for Apple to unveil a 'breakthrough digital device'. Apple will unveil the device on Tuesday, the day before Microsoft plans to unveil Windows XP.
