Architosh.com to Co-Sponsor ArchVoices Essay Competition for
Third Year in a Row
Architosh.com,
one of the leading CAD sites worldwide and the number one Macintosh
centric site for all things CAD and 3d, will be co-sponsoring the
ArchVoices Essay Competition for intern Architects for the third
year in a row, with the second place winner receiving an Apple iPod.
PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island -- February 21, 2005 -- Architosh.com,
today announced that it will be cosponsoring the important
ArchVoices Essay Competition in 2005. The competition for intern
architects is the third time Architosh will be supplying the second
place winner with a custom engraved Apple
iPod. Last year's second place essay winner -- Tamara Redburn
-- received a 20 GB Apple iPod engraved with her name, year, contest
and sponsor.
"Architosh is again proud to be a co-sponsor of this important
annual moment for the industry, an event that puts emphasis on the
craft of professional writing and communication", says Anthony
Frausto-Robledo, founder and editor-in-chief of Architosh.com. "As
a trained and educated architect myself, I can attest -- and so
could many of our readers -- to the difficulty many visual-based
learners have to the written word. Written communication is an absolutely
vital part of our professional duties, despite the fact that we
make drawings all day long."
Matt Ostanik, Assoc. AIA, ArchVoices Essay Competition Chair, wrote
in an email thank you note, "on behalf of the ArchVoices Essay
Competition Committee, I am writing to thank you again for your
company's generous support of our competition. The 2004 competition
that concluded last May directly engaged over 180 young architectural
professionals across the globe, a 15% increase over the previous
year, and it advanced a continuing dialogue about the future of
the profession and the importance of critical thinking and writing
among young professionals."
In an email from our lucky iPod winner, Tamara Redburn, Assoc.
AIA, said, "I want to thank you again for sponsoring the ArchVoices
Essay Competition -- I think it's important that companies like
yours promote writing by architects."
Architosh.com continues to believe in the value of this essay competition
and the focus on an enlightened dialog about the future of the profession.
For the 2005
ArchVoices Essay Competition Architosh will again deliver a
lucky winner or winners an Apple iPod -- that cultural icon that
has grown so popular among young architects and college students
around the globe. For more information on the competition or to
