Try out our new forums! Click on the graphic at left, go register and start posting those questions, answers, issues and opinions. The forums are new and therefore a little empty. So please hop on over there and start posting. We also have an Architosh Lounge forum at the bottom where people can meet and post anything they they want. Update: don't be shy folks, Just ask a question. There must be something on your mind?

What's New & Hot!

We have a new story at left, double titled, requesting help from Mac architects to save a Mac-based high school CAD program in Sacramento.

We have a new chart on 2000 Architecture Salary Levels for US Architecture Firms with notes. Are you getting paid what you are worth? Read on.

We have new information on our Firm Profile series available in the Features page. If you are interested in being featured here at Architosh please read about it. Update: We are currently working on our first installment of the Firm Profile series. We are planning for a March publication date.

A reader misunderstood our Mac OS X page comparison chart. We are not saying OS X, Win2000 and Linux are the "only" modern OS's we are just comparing those three because they are the Big 3 moving forward.

We hear Apple is giving out $30 discounts for Mac OS X to those Public Beta testers. That brings the price down to $99. Not bad for a modern OS with built-in Apache, WebDAV and many other advanced features not available on any platform period at any cost. If you bought Public Beta you should have received this coupon in your email.

We have a book review, our feature piece, on a superb text by architect Jonathan Cohen AIA. A must read! Oh, and by the way, Jonathan—who is an industry expert familiar with PC's and Macs—prefers Macs for many things. In fact, the book was produced on a Mac.
