Epic Games releases Twinmotion 2025.1

Epic has announced this month a significant update in Twinmotion 2025.1. The popular 3D renderer utilizes the world’s most popular game engine, Unreal Engine and harnesses its real-time power without demanding that architects and designers face Unreal Engine’s steep learning curve.

Twinmotion is purpose-built for the AEC and related industries, and its newest features noted below make producing visualizations for architecture and interiors even more compelling. Users can use Twinmotion 2025.1 to create renders, animations, immersive walkthroughs and all with cinematic visual qualities.

Real-Time orthographic rendering modes now supported in Twinmotion 2025.1.

And speaking of cinematic qualities, Twinmotion while initially focused on the AEC industry has grown into other market directions, including automotive and product design visualizations — in fact, there is a new feature update focused on the rendering of tires on cars — and filmmaking industry visualization.

New in 2025.1

Special updates of note include the new ability to project any image or video texture onto a surface with new Projector Lights. This is highly useful for visualizing live events pre-visualization or simply TVs with moving images inside architectural renderings. You can also creatively use this new feature for simulating effects like caustic reflections on the hull of a boat.

Architects will especially like the new enhanced real-time renderings of orthographic views in both Standard and Lumon lighting modes. This enables both top-down and side-ways elevation renders.

Numerous other features that are small but important are in this release. For full details visit Twinmotion online.
